List of Kollywood film clans

People who have succeeded in India's Kollywood film industry have the connections, and the will, to give their children and siblings a boost in the ferociously competitive film world. This has led to the emergence of "film clans" -- families, even entire dynasties, of stars, producers, directors, and other film industry crew. Most film families marry into other families, therefore many of the families are inter-related. Notable film clans include:
[edit] The Rajinikanth - Raja Family
Probably one of the grandest families in the industry, the Rajinikanth family have been in the industry for years since the 1980's. It is mainly Rajinikanth's descendants that have carried on with the family tradition of acting. His first daughter, Aishwarya, married Dhanush which united the Raja family also including Sonia Agarwal and Selvaraghavan.

Sivakumar played roles in films from 1965 to 1998 . Sivakumar introduced his son Surya in 1997 in the film Nerruku Ner which made Surya a star overnight. He recently married Jyothika.

The Chandrasekhars start with S.A. Chandrasekhar. His son Vijay went on to pursue a successful film career. Chandrasekhar's wife, Shobha, is a singer. Recently Vijay's cousin, Vikranth, has joined the film industry.

G.K Reddy is the owner of G.K films banner. He has retired from producing films and has handed his company over to his oldest son, Vikram Krishna Reddy, formerly known as actor Ajay of Poo Parikka Varugirom fame. His younger son, Vishal Reddy, is Kollywood's young action hero who scored a hat-trick with his first 3 films.
