Talk:List of Baptists

Can this list be merged with the much larger list:Baptists ? Kyle.Mullaney 23:53, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Kyle
- This is the only list of Baptists I am aware of in Wikipedia. Could you provide a link to this other list you are referencing? Gold Dragon 03:20, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
The link is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Baptists I am sorry it is a category not a list

- You might be thinking of List of famous Baptists. Yeah, I think those two articles should be merged. 71.205.25.184

[edit] Justin Timberlake
Does anyone have a reliable source that he is a Baptist? He said here [1] that he was spiritual, not distinctly religious. Mad Jack 19:21, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Question to User:Gold Dragon
Well I guess. That being I'm unclear why the creator put all names in "Surname, Christian name" format. Like I couldn't add Christopher Priest (comic book writer), I had to add Priest, Christopher. I'm guessing adding difficulty avoids spurious additions maybe? Was that your reason? (His/Her talk page seems fairly well ignored)--T. Anthony 13:24, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- This is a common format when listing names in alphabetical order but the other way is also common. The format just started that way when the list began on the Baptist page so it continued that way when it was moved to its own page. If you wish to change it, feel free to do so as long as it stays consistent, I really don't care what the format is. Gold Dragon 23:18, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

- Okay. Actually I think I'll leave it as is. It makes adding names a bit more work, but changing the whole thing would be far more work.--T. Anthony 03:08, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Patrick Swayze
I know this list is pretty loosely defines a Baptist, but if Swayze was raised Catholic, converted to Buddhism and then to Scientology, then when was he a Baptist? He should be removed from the list, unless we can find out when and to what extent he was
