Um, should we do something about two Japanese-language links from this page? One goes to Korea-related topics, the other to specifically North Korea-related topics. --140.247.129.77 04:21, 17 Apr 2004 (UTC)

As best I can count, I added 99 articles today that already existed in Wikipedia but were not yet linked to from this page. I also added various cross references and a couple of links to articles that don't exist yet, but those of course do not count! --Sewing 01:00, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Reorganizing

It may be about time to split this page again, and that makes this a good time to think about some issues:

• 1. Monarchs: should we continue adding kings and emperors under their title? Or should we follow Wikipedia naming conventions and add them only under their name (ie, put Sejong of Joseon under S and not under K)?
• 2. Korea/Korean: It's not very transparent to the user when something will be filed under Korea, under Korean, or the actual name of the topic. Should we double-list these articles under the topic name?

Probably some other issues, but those are the ones on my mind right now. -- Visviva 05:15, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Really reorganizing

I'm thinking of splitting this into 26-or-so separate lists, along the lines of List of Korea-related topics (A). As the list has grown, it has become a bit too much of a trackless waste. Providing a capsule explanation of each topic might help make this list usable once again. Comments? -- Visviva 10:16, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Further fiddling

Some things I'm thinking about:

1. Returning the boldfaced terms to regular text. The boldface may be too visually distracting. On the other hand, some visual distinction between the keywords and the descriptions is needed. Perhaps we could remove wikilinks from the description, so that the keywords would be the only links on the page?
2. Possibly moving most personal names (the ones like Lee and Baek with their own sublists) into surname articles, so we would no longer have to worry about Lees appearing in one part of the list and Yis in another. Kims could probably be moved straight to the List of people by name, except maybe for a few of the very most notable, since there are no common alternate spellings of that surname.
3. Since the 1-K and L-Z pages are now very large, and may be difficult for some users to load, maybe replacing them with four or five separate transcluded lists... perhaps 0-C, D-G, H-K, L-P, Q-Z?
4. Doing something about the list of categories on the root page. Perhaps they could just be merged into the main list -- i.e., file Category:Korean boxers under "Boxers, Korean (category)" or some such. At the same time, maybe we could replace the Categories section on the main List page with a condensed map of the principal cats.
