[edit] Image removal

Just wondering, why was this image removed? --Pentasyllabic 04:38, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

its er, kinda big.--Kenshin -Himura 22:31, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
You know, the wiki script makes it easy to scale images down. -- Jelly Soup 05:04, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure he's just randomly commenting, since I removed the displayed image almost two days before he posted. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 05:09, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Why dosen't someone add a new pic?-- Kuroi Bara 06:23, 10 January 2006

[edit] Categorization

I have created redirect pages for every single summon on this page by name, to this page. Under each redirect, I have categorized the animals under appropriate things, such as Category:Fictional molluscs for Katsuyu, dogs, snakes, toads, etc. Hope you enjoy. I've also classed this main page under fictional animals. Tyciol 18:42, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gamabunta

I thought Gamabunta knew all along that Naruto had summoned him that first time. He denied it because Naruto seemed weak, he just didn't want to acknowledge him.

The article says that Gamabunta only realises when the scroll is thrown before him, I think upon seeing it Gamabunta admits that he knows Naruto did it.

I'm unable to check this, so I won't edit the page, hopefully someone else can check.

[edit] Anko

Didn't Anko have the ability to summon Tigers?

No. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 06:06, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gamabunta summoning

It states in the gamabunta article that Naruto can only summon him with the kyubi chakra however in the fight with Gaara he summons him without the Kyubi. If there are no objections I would like to delete that part of the article.BLaCk 21:32, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Uh, no. He does use the Kyubi's chakra. He doesn't possess enough on his own. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 21:36, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
The kyubi chakra was not represented when he summoned him, and only asked for the kyubi chakra at the end of the battle, which would go along with the thirds statment at the time when he told orochimaru that a ninja would show his true potential when a ninja fights for his loved ones.BLaCk 21:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Naruto does not possess enough chakra o summon Gamabunta on his own. He can only summon the tiny frogs. This has been show several times. Hell, they show it during the fight. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 21:47, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
He couldnt summon him befor beacuse he wasnt determind and couldnt concentrate enough beacuse he was too affraid of Gaara but when saskue broke his fall and instructed Naruto to "save Sakura no matter what" he realized that Gaara wasnt truly strong beacuse he only fought for himself. With the help of Saskues actions and words he was able to get over the fear and fight to his fullest potential. Also during the bell test that kakashi first gave to naruto, sakura, and saskue kakashi said that Naruto probably had more chakra than him.(thought I could be wrong beacuse I was watching those arcs with crappy subs, so plz forgive me)BLaCk 21:57, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
In the manga at least, Naruto's eyes are indicative of the Kyubi's chakra (ie. slit-like pupils) in the panels leading up to Gamabunta's summoning. That should be enough evidence to support the chakra assistance. Snapper2 21:58, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Bam. Thank you. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 22:01, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Crap really? I dono gotta review that again. The Gaara battle was a defining moment for Naruto where he showed his TRUE potential. but I am positive in the anime that he didnt, but if its in the manga then its canon. gotta review that again.BLaCk 22:05, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Click here. There's your image. Slitted pupil. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 22:20, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Additionally, Naruto taps into the Kyubi's reserves slightly earlier than this as well: right before summoning all the Shadow Clones for his Uzumaki Naruto Two Thousand Combo, as seen here. Snapper2 22:29, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
The multiple shadow clones was for sure all Naruto both in the manga and Anime, but I still say that it was also him that summoned Gamabunta in the Anime, Manga it does look like the slit eyes of the Kyubi and since that is Canon That article is correct thank you for pointing out the Manga Part for me.BLaCk 22:58, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
The reason I referred to that picture is because of the chakra surrounding Naruto. The only time you can ever see chakra like that is when he's unleashing the Kyubi's strength (just as he did against Haku and Neji). Also, you could be right about the anime's difference from the manga in regards to Gamabunta's summoning. For some reason Naruto's Combination Transformation gave Gamabunta eight tails more than he had in the manga, which seems to be a pointless yet glaringly different change. But that has nothing to do with the topic. Snapper2 23:18, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes that does happen when he taps into the kyubi chakra but also his eys change into slits, his wiskers on his cheeks get thiker, his teeth grow like fangs and the chakra sourounding him stays there, I saw none of those signals when he used the multiple shadow clones, the panel that showed his eyes befor kage bunshin was still normal unlike the panels after when they showed his eyes and they looked like the slit eyes of the kyubi power emerging when he summoned Gamabunta. In the anime when he let out that burst of chakra it was blue in color indicating its was his chakra. I also whish they would keep the continuity with the Manga and Anime.BLaCk 23:46, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Back to the beginning. They do, despite the complaints to the contrary. The only differences are in the violence, which is lessened for TV. Moving violence is worse than still violence because it's imitatable, I suppose. Anyway, there are very few moments which are contradictory. Zaku: one way or another, that guy has one arm at his death. Nine-tailed combo transformation: I could argue that the positioning of the panel merely obscures the other tails (it doesn't, of course, but I could). That's about it. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 01:16, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What they do?

Should it be added what benefit one gains from some of these summonings, espically the toads and snails? After reading this article I'm still lost on thant and feel it should be added or if it is already in there at least clarificed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Seekquaze (talkcontribs).

I don't really think the purpose of the article is to illustrate the usefulness of each summon. Instead, it's meant to be more of a summarization of each summon as a character, and what abilities, personality traits, and looks are unique to them. ~SnapperTo 21:58, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Distinguishing Filler

I feel it be important to note what appears only in the filler episodes. Summons, jutsus, characters, etc. For the most part, this is taken care of. However, I realized there may be a problem when I attempted to edit "only appears in a filler episode" within the Umibozu summon article, after which somebody insists on constantly deleting it. He does only appear in filler, a creation not of the original author of Naruto. Therefor, I find it necessary to note, and hope I am not alone on this.

"It was used by Amachi to terrorize the Sea Country in the Sea Country filler arc." There's a reason people keep removing it. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 22:35, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I have a question. Isn't it weird that Naruto can only summon tadpoles when he tried for the first time? I mean,he's using a scroll, does the seal and all,so he should be able to summon Gamabunta, right? all you have to do is to take a scroll,do the seal, infuse your chakura, and BAM!!!! They come out! So,lets say that Naruto did not have the required chakura to summon Gama, and fails the summoning. But the thing is,when he failed,he should not have been able to summon ANYTHING at all! Why do tadpoles come out?? Its so wrong!!! (Forgive me if I am wrong about the summoning process,I don't have the chance to watch all the espisodes. In fact, I rely on Wikipedia to know whats going on!)Zachary crimsonwolf 13:43, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Um... what? It was hard to understand anything you typed. The first time he summoned frogs and he had a tadpole was because he didn't put enough chakra in his summon and didn't have the right amount to summon a real frog. That's why Jiraiya started doing all of this stuff to help him release the Kyuubi's chakra so he could summon a real frog. And Naruto finally did, except he summon Gamabunta on accident because he put too much chakra in the summon. The only reason he can summon, though, is because he signed the scroll. That's why tadpoles come out when he fails at incorperating enough chakra into the technique.

[edit] New artile

I think that Gamabunta should have a seperate article SSJ 5 08:54, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gama summoners

On the Gama summon scroll, what is the name before Jiraiya's name? You can see all of the characters, so anyone can translate that?

anyway, maybe we can add "noteable summoners" to each section.

The name is logically the Fourth's, but it's deliberately written in an unreadable fashion. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 01:02, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Wouldn't the Fourth's name be after Jiraiya's name?
I don't know that one then, but I assume it's equally unreadable. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 01:09, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ninken

I added some trivia, and I don't see how it's "guessing."

They do resemble different Naruto characters.

Look at this picture: http://img63.photobucket.com/albums/v192/mahalay/anbu-kakashi.jpg

The one with whiskers = Naruto
The one with the lines around the eyes and the kanji on the forhead = Gaara
The one with the glasses = Shino
The big lazy one with the spikes = Shikamaru
The one with the bandages = Lee/Neji
The grinning one with the most beast-like eyes = Kiba
The one with the hair up straight and tongue out = Lee/?
—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.66.104.215 (talk) 23:54, 17 December 2006 (UTC).

The Naruto and Gaara dogs do seem unique enough to be intentional design similarities by Kishimoto. The others, while I can see some connections to main characters, are debatable as to whom, if anyone, they represent. Still, I think a trivia bullet saying that some of the dogs seem to have been designed after other characters would be acceptable. ~SnapperTo 01:35, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Rock Frog

Shouldn't the Rock Frog be added, Jiraiya summons its stomach when fighting Itachi. He seems to be the most important frog aside from Gamabunta himself if you look at Jiraiya's speech. (He uses him frequently and Itachi is the first to escape). It should also be noted the Rock Frog is a katon user, while Gamabunta is a Suiton user. (Important now that Kishimoto introduced the elemental system) 217.136.25.193 12:03, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wrong Wrong Wrong

There are way too many incorrect items on this page.

Gamabunta knew that Naruto summoned him during but not when or after he saw the summoning scroll. He literally said to Jiraiya that there was no reason to show him that since the last person who was able to stay on top of his head was the Fourth Hokage.

Then he doesn't accept Naruto as his subordinate at all. Naruto gets up while the sun is going down and says he won, then he passes out. He passed out before the sun went down and Gamabunta says, "You were close". Gamabunta does accept him as a subordinate but that's later not before Naruto passes out. Furthermore Naruto doesn't claim to be a "master" per se. He does say that he summoned him and that Gamabunta has to do what he says since he's a subordinate. Gamabunta is still the master. Meaning that although Naruto tells him what to do, it is because he is his leader or peer that he will protect him.

There are many other inconsistencies in this article and it's pretty sad. With that being said, I am still extremely grateful to anyone who takes time out to put up information on Wikipedia. I'm upset because it's incorrect, not a lot, but definitely at key points that help you understand a larger picture.

  1. If it's wrong, why don't you fix it?
  2. There's the manga's rendition of the summoning to take into account, so when trying to merge the two differing incidents together there are bound to be things that don't exactly match what only happened in one or the other.
While I admit that the summoning is rather heavily oriented towards the manga's version, I'm not aware of anything from the anime that isn't somehow included, albeit out of order. ~SnapperTo 20:41, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
