Actually, there is an official way to number Iowa's counties. The numbers are assigned sequentially to the alphabetized list (i.e., Adair being #01, and Wright being #99).—Ëzhiki (erinaceus europeaus) 16:59, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)
- Except having that number gives you no better information in finding the county than if you had the county name. With the numbering scheme I used, you can readily find a county location given the number. Cburnett 17:22, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, I have nothing against the system you used, it makes good sense. I just wanted to let it be known that Iowa State uses a different scheme, which is perhaps worth mentioning. Maybe adding a corresponding map would be beneficial, too.—Ëzhiki (erinaceus europeaus) 17:27, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)
