Formed in 2003, this five piece hard rock band from Glasgow, Scotland are one of the brightest talents of the Scottish music scene. Consisting of:

Kenny Collins (vocals)
Michael Coll (guitar)
Al Reilly (guitar)
Michael Wilson (bass)
Iain Stratton (drums)

Describing their style as melodic hard rock and appealing to a wide range of fans, their hard work and determination has seen them achieve success where other bands may have failed.

In their early years, Logan found themselves being almost completely unknown in their own country, whilst having a huge fanbase in the USA where Sony/Epic took an interest in them. Although a deal was not signed, their popularity grew and their self funded debut album First Leaf Fallen was hugely popular in America and received radio airplay. Following this up with Welcome To The Wasteland, their second album gained favour with their hometown fans and, coupled with their high profile support slots with Alter Bridge, Logan soon became one of the most talked about unsigned bands in the UK.

In June 2006 they released their first single When I Get Down which debuted at No.12 on the Official UK Rock Chart and proceeded to stay in the chart for seven weeks – a feat never before achieved by an unsigned band. On the back of this, they embarked on their first headline tour of the UK, selling out venues and gaining credibility across the country. September 18th 2006, saw the release of their third album Cruel Little World and their second single Hallowed Ground is due for release on 26th February.

[edit] The History of Logan

In the first year of existence for Logan, the band was in the strange situation of being completely unknown in their own country, whilst having a fanbase that grew on an almost daily basis in the USA.

By hosting copies of their early demos on discussion boards of bands like Creed, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, Staind, 12 Stones etc. Logan had gotten their music listened to by a very large pool of rock music fans. The fallback on this was an almost viral like spreading of the demos, and an instant American following.

With the help of the new fans, Logan managed to get their demos played on a clutch of radio stations all over the USA which in turn led to a proposal of sponsorship on the (now defunct) Budweiser True Music program, and more excitingly, an invitation to fly to Washington DC and showcase for the former Vice President of A&R at Sony/Epic records.

Logan enjoyed five days in DC and picked up some invaluable advice from one of the industries top A&R reps.

Despite the trip to the USA not leading to a deal, it did bring the band into contact with Mark Tremonti, who was at that point a member of Creed. Tremonti’s brother (Michael) had been aware of Logan for some time and on seeing the news that the band had been invited to the USA, he was prompted to get in touch and offer some advice on record deals, and the general ins and outs of dealing with a Major Label. This friendship continued and when it came to pass that Creed had split up and Mark Tremonti was coming to the UK with his new band Alter Bridge - Logan were invited to be the support. Thanks to these support slots offered by Tremonti, Logan now have a massive following in the UK, as well as the USA.

Logan have up until this point, done everything on their own. It is purely down to the hard work, determination and talent of the individuals involved that they have achieved what they have. With the correct guidance and promotion that a good record label could provide, there is no limit to how high Logan could reach.
