Lord Nasty

Lord Nasty is an American R&B singer/songwriter based in Ukiah, California.
Born James Lemmons in Sweet Water, Texas in the year 1958, Lord Nasty began his infamous career as a Porn Core R&B "Shock" Crooner in 1979 when he wrote and recorded his first single Disco Slut for his own label. The controversial recording was sent to Epic Records, Columbia Records, and Motown Records as a demo but received only one letter of rejection from Columbia in reply, which read: "We love your voice and feel you possess remarkable artistic talent but your words just have to go."
Lemmons refused to comply with Columbia's direction at that time and has not paused to look back since. Penning such classics as "My Baby Sitter Jacked Me Off", "Nasty Hoochie Booty", "Jacking Off In The Dark", and "Health Food Store Bitches" under the name Lord Nasty, Lemmons has independently released five full length LP's and continues to entertain crowds in the San Francisco Bay Area on a regular basis to this day. His two most recent releases Glory Whorealujah and Sweet Phat Ass Filth have garnered rabid praise from local punk rock and hipster circles, which may explain the current popularity of his live performances. Lemmons is currently in communication with several major labels about the release of his latest LP offering entitled Baptized In Pussy Juice, although so far without a bite.
As Lemmons put it himself in a recent interview with the local weekly publication The San Francisco Bay Guardian: "My mom didn't think I'd get anywhere with it," Lemmons says of his music. "'Don't nobody want to hear that dirty, filthy trash!' Now she says, 'I guess I was wrong.'"
Lord Nasty's musical styles range from Gospel, to classic R&B, to James Brown style funk. His four-piece backup band pulls off his sample based classics in a live setting cleanly and without a hitch. Local Ukiahan church goers are also treated to his remarkable singing at their church where Lemmons performs traditional Gospel on a weekly basis.
Not surprisingly James Lemmons is an avid connoisseur of Pornography, admittedly preferring the filthier offerings of Darkside Entertainment, a Southern California based porn production company that features rap beats and hip-hop music in its X-rated releases. Lemmons has even contacted the owners personally in hope that his own music could be placed in a movie. When The San Francisco Bay Guardian contacted Darkside owner Fred Starks by phone to ask about the request, the owner admitted the company decided to pass stating simply: "He's too nasty for us."
