Lowmoss Prison
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lowmoss Prison is on the outskirts of Bishopbriggs, which is near Glasgow. It is for low-category prisoners who have a sentence of less than 36 months to serve.
The prison is of wooden, single-storey construction, and the accommodation comprises 11 dormitory-style units linked by internal corridors and Davidson House, a temporary, pre-fabricated building. The corridors linking the dormitories are narrow and do not permit good access. Some investment has taken place, with the partial refurbishment of seven dormitories. The available accommodation is sparse and offers little privacy. It houses approximately 300 prisoners at any one time.
