One Man Army and the Undead Quartet is a deathrash metal band from Sweden. The band formed by vocalist Johan Lindstrand after the break up of The Crown. Lindstrand writes the biggest percentage of the band's music and lyrics.

[edit] Early days
The name One Man Army stuck with Lindstrand for quite some time, a moniker he applied to himself when beginning to write music for the demo When Hatred Comes to Life.[1] More words were added to the group name when other members joined the group, though Lindstrand had been alone for six months prior to their arrival.[1] Lindstrand has described the name as "basically action meets horror", and recalled being fond "of the old Rambo movies."[1] Inspiration for the name has also been accredited to 60's Rock N' Roll groups whose custom was to have one name for the vocalist and another name for the rhythm section.[1]
Valle Adzic couldn't join the band's first tour due to commitments with Impious and building his recording studio Deadline, which Lindstrand was "frustrated and disappointed" by.[1] Lindstrand considered keeping Adzic in the band while hiring a session bass player, though a fortnight of rehearsals with bassist Robert Axelsson changed the frontman's mind.[1] Dubbing Axelsson “good” and “much more dedicated than Valle” towards the band, Lindstrand couldn't see the sense in bringing back Adzic after touring.[1] Needing a focused unit that sticks together, he felt Adzic's departure was best for the band though the two remain friends.[1]
