Luke Perry (born Coy Luther Perry III on October 11, 1966) is an American actor best known for his role as Dylan Michael McKay in the TV series Beverly Hills, 90210.

Perry was born at Mansfield General Hospital (now Med-Central Hospital) in Mansfield, Ohio to Coy Luther Perry Jr. and Ann Bennett. He was raised in the town of Fredericktown, Ohio. He is a graduate of Fredericktown High School.
Perry is now divorced from Rachel "Minnie" Sharp, with whom he has two children, Jack and Sophie. More recently, Perry was romantically linked to actress Renée Zellweger.

In Beverly Hills, 90210, Perry originally auditioned for the role of Steve Sanders. Having not received it, he is not in the series pilot.
Early in his career, he appeared opposite Alexandra Wilson on the ABC soap opera Loving, The two were reunited when he briefly joined the cast of NBC's Another World.
He appeared as Rev. Jeremiah Cloutier in the HBO television series Oz.
From 2002 to 2004 he played another character named Jeremiah in the post-apocalyptic TV series Jeremiah.
He has also guest starred in a number of television series. Perry voiced himself in an episode of Family Guy, where he was labelled as gay by Peter and sues the family. Peter tries to seduce Luke into becoming a homosexual and fails horribly. However, by the end of the episode Luke is seen with Mayor Adam West, about to engage in sex.
He played Krusty the Clown's half brother in an episode of The Simpsons. He appeared as Carter Heywood's ex-boyfriend who subsequently fell in love with a woman on Spin City. He was featured in an episode of Johnny Bravo, giving Johnny dating advice after Johnny saved him from a stampede of fan girls.
In 2006, Luke Perry appeared on an episode of Will and Grace as a gay birdwatcher, who caught the eye of Jack. His most recent television series NBC's Windfall was cancelled.
In an episode of "What I Like About You" he reunited with former 90210 co-star Jennie Garth, He claimed he had been dating Val's (Jennie Garth) best friend when he and Val became romantically involved, clearly a parody of the 90210 "brenda years"

His first significant motion picture role was as motorcycle-riding grungy sidekick Oliver Pike in 1992's Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He was the lead role in 1994's 8 Seconds. He had a minor role at the beginning of 1997 movie The Fifth Element
