Manish Patel is an actor and writer, who was born in the border town of Tazara between Tanzania and Zambia. Patel had a role as Ash Desai opposite Sanjeev Bhaskar and Omid Djalili in the BBC drama Chopratown.
His first film Triads, Yardies and Onion Bhajees (directed by Sarjit Bains) was premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2003 and went on limited theatrical release. His second film Camp Xray: Ghosts of Guantanamo (portraying Adnan Shah) was premiered at the Bite The Mango Film festival in 2004. Yet to be released to the general public, the film touches on the controversial Camp Xray prison camp in Cuba where alleged terrorists are held.
Patel has a role in the independent feature film Cash And Curry co-starring Bend It Like Beckham duo Ameet Chana and Pooja Shah and also starring Faria Alam.
