Mark Baker (b. 16th April 1985) is an author of several books on Welsh country houses and estates, publishing his first book at the age of 14 in 1999 on Gwrych Castle, Abergele. He recently founded the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust in 2001 and is currently researching for publications on Buildings at Risk in Wales, and particular houses including Baron Hill, Garthewin and Gwylfa Hiraethog. Mark Baker's latest book is on the history of Plas Teg, near Mold and will be released on December 2nd 2006. Mark attended Bangor University from 2003 and graduated with a BA in history and archaeology in 2006. He was the unofficial historical researcher for the Speculative Analysis Society (the university paranormal research group) for the 2005 - 2006 academic year.
