Mark Gearan

Mark Gearan is a politician, lawyer and communications expert. He is the current President of Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. During the Clinton Administration he served several roles. Firstly he was director of the Peace Corps. He later became assistant to the President and White House Director of Communications, a position with the title of White House Deputy Chief of Staff.
Before serving for Bill Clinton he was a prominent member of Clinton's Vice Presidential campaign. He was as campaign manager for Al Gore during his run for the vice presidency in 1992. He was Deputy Director of the Clinton/Gore Transition Team in 1992.
Gearan earned his B.A. in government cum laude at Harvard University and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
