Marko Perković

Marko Perković (English transliteration: Marko Perkovich, born 27 October 1966 in Čavoglave) is a Croatian singer and songwriter. He is the lead singer in the Croatian band Thompson. He uses the band's name as a nickname.
His lyrics feature strong national sentiment dominated with motives of love, God, the homeland but also those whose origins are from World War II and the 1991-1995 Croatian War of Independence. He is a declared Catholic and a hardline right-wing supporter. His fans are known for displaying patriotism, Ustaša symbols at his concerts which Thompson refused to condemn.
Croatian journalist Matija Babić brought Perković's performance of a modified version of the song Jasenovac i Gradiška Stara to widespread public attention, in which Perković pays tribute to Ustaša figureheads and their deads.
Perković was married to Croatian singer Danijela Martinović. They succeeded getting a church divorce but refused to state the reasons under which it was granted.
He owns a share in radio station Narodni radio, which is only radio station with state concession which often plays his songs.
Perković has written many songs for other singers, for example: Mate Bulić. He has also sung in duets with Miroslav Škoro, Tiho Orlić, and Jasmin Stavros.
