[edit] Needs to be less of a list
This article as-is is essentially a list of awards, honors, etc. It gives no real information about what this composer's music is actually like, what techniques are used and such. In fact, it does appear copied from the page you linked to above, which is the composer's personal web site. Basically it reads like the bio from a portfolio/resume of someone currently pursuing a career in composition (I know, I am a music composition student, they've shown us examples of these). I suspect this could be a vanity page, but that rather lengthy list of accolades suggests that we may want to actually have an article on this guy. If someone has any further knowledge of this composer's output, I suggest they add it, and really pare down the amount of information on the specifics of various awards and positions held and such. That would improve this article immensely. Bobhobbit 29 June 2005 21:48 (UTC)
- I've heard of this fellow in music magazines (I used to subscribe to Fanfare), if memory serves (and checking JPC.de reveals several CDs with his music currently in print.) Not to say this might not be a vanity page, but my guess would be that it's just a page someone didn't put work into and which could instead be replaced by a regular and rather better - and not just copied *g* - page. (Ah. Also MusicWeb has this review of a CD with a work of his, and one or two others. Google test gives 3,930 for "Marlos Nobre" - admittedly it gives 9,350-ish for "Peggy Glanville-Hicks", a Vaughan-Williams student and interesting composer for whom we as yet have nothing... challenge, that :) ) Schissel : bowl listen June 29, 2005 22:55 (UTC)

- He has a very substantial article in the current New Grove, including a 5-item bibliography (three of which are in Portuguese). IMO he definitely deserves an article here, and addition of info from the NG article would be an improvement. (Maybe I'll get to it soon ... ) Antandrus (talk) 29 June 2005 22:59 (UTC)
