Marcus 334: I live in Hyannis Port, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA. I am a Biologist, Engineer, Project Manager, Sailboat Captainand an Innkeeper. That's me with the red hat at work in the Summer. I'm married and have three children.

Being in Tamilnadu, South India and writing new articles & major expansions:
Camping at Manjampatti Valley in Paliyan caves. Volunteering for Palani Hills National Park in the Winter.
Working on WikiProject Protected areas of India with Mary Victoria Leiter on Protected areas of Tamil Nadu like Amaravathi Reservoir, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve and Karimpuzha National Park. We're still Saving Silent Valley, Sairandhri and Sispara with my toolbox
I also play in:
Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve, Indira Gandhi National Park, and Silent Valley National Park in the Western Ghats with M. S. Swaminathan, but missed the last big party at Delhi Durbar in my sandbox while stargazing at Kodaikanal Solar Observatory.

My reasons for working on these Protected areas of India topics are:
- I share the beliefs of M. S. Swaminathan, for whom I once managed a windmill project.

- Concern about degradation of the culture and habitat of the native nomadic tribes people who have lived in remote caves of this area for millenniums.
- Concern about recent human intrusion into these Reserve forest areas, especially illegal forest clearing and agriculture.
- Concern about the resulting reduction or extinction of the high proportion of endemic species of flora and fauna in these unique South Western Ghats montane rain forests.
- To stimulate awareness and action to reverse the above intrusion and degradation, including promotion of the new Palani Hills National Park.
