He is also alleged to have worked as a gay escort while an active-duty Marine.[3]

[edit] Biography
[edit] Early years
Sanchez was born and raised in San Jose, California, graduating from Independence High School in 1988 where he was a wrestler.[citation needed] After high school, he traveled to Spain, Italy, France and Portugal where he made a living teaching English at academias, an informal language center for students. He also wrote for several European tourist publications.[citation needed]
[edit] Adult film career
In the 1990s, Sanchez worked as a performer in adult films produced for gay audiences.[4][5] Sanchez starred in several adult videos for Catalina, Bijoux and Falcon Entertainment.[4] His film appearances include performances in Call of the Wild (1992) and Montreal Men (1992) as "Pierre LaBranche",[5] and Idol Country (released in 1994), as "Rod Majors".[4] He also posed for The Advocate and Playgirl.[citation needed] The most recent original porn films in which Sanchez appeared were first released in 1995;[4] however, scenes from his films have been re-released as part of compilations. The compilation Touched by an Anal was released in 1997;[1] a more recent release was in 2006, Mansex Meltdown.[6] Sanchez stated in an interview with Radar Magazine that it "was just the nature of the business, you shoot a lot films and they use them forever."[7]
[edit] Marine Corps career
Sanchez was trained as a refrigeration mechanic in the Marine Corps and is currently a member of the Marine Corps Individual Ready Reserve.[2]
[edit] Columbia University
In 2006 Sanchez was a student in the School of General Studies at Columbia University.[8] He has been involved in activities that promote veterans' rights on campus. In particular, he was involved in the effort to win approval for the Columbia University War Memorial, a project that will honor all alumni who have fallen in American conflicts since the American Revolutionary War.[9]
[edit] Complaints about anti-military bias on Columbia campus

Sanchez first became known on campus for making complaints about on-campus harassment from leftists for being in the military. He claims to have been called a "baby-killer," along with other epithets by three members of the university's socialist students' organization on Club Day. Columbia investigated and while they expressed sympathy for Sanchez's experience, found no grounds for punishing the three accused students.[8] The allegations by Sanchez were disputed by one of the students Sanchez had named in an article for the Columbia Daily Spectator, "The Conservative Witch Hunt".[10]
Sanchez and other student veterans have also voiced their frustration at what they perceive to be a lack of regard for veterans on the campus, and with Columbia's policy against on-campus military recruitment. The university does not permit any organization that discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation to recruit on campus.[11] In February of 2006, the university amended its non-discrimination policy to include "military status" as a protected group; replacing the more specific "disabled or Vietnam era veteran".[12]
Sanchez's media appearances include interviews in the New York Daily News,[citation needed] USAToday[citation needed] and several editorials written for the New York Post[citation needed] and the Marine Corps Times,[13] as well as appearances on several Fox News[2] television programs, including The O'Reilly Factor[2] and Hannity & Colmes.[2] He has also been quoted in an article in the Columbia Daily Spectator[8], and written pieces for that paper as well.[9][14][15][16]
Sanchez was awarded the Jeane Kirkpatrick Academic Freedom Award for his work fighting discrimination against military and veterans at Columbia University at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in March of 2007.[17] A photograph of Sanchez with commentator Ann Coulter taken prior to the event has been reprinted in much of the coverage relating to Sanchez's distinctive career history.[2]
[edit] Controversy
In the wake of his appearance at the CPAC event, where Ann Coulter refered to John Edwards as a "faggot,"[18] Sanchez was discovered to be former adult film star and allegedly an escort. Sanchez has admitted that he worked as a porn actor.[2]
Sanchez has angered gay activists by referring to them as gay jihadists and gay fundamentalists.[19][20] Sanchez has also stated that he is not homosexual,[7] a charge many gay activists have denounced as "self-loathing" and "hypocritical".[citation needed].
[edit] Escorting allegation
Critics have stated Sanchez also worked as a male escort, a charge he initially neither denied nor confirmed.[21] He is now on record as denying that he was ever involved in escorting.[22]
Nevertheless, there is evidence he did work as a male escort until at least November of 2004. The truth of the matter is of particular importance to the Marine Corps investigation of Sanchez; if Sanchez worked as a prostitute while an enlistee in the Marine, it would constitute several code violations.
Sanchez allegedly ran a website called 'Excellent-top.com' from 1999 to 2002 that advertised his escorting services. Archived pages from this site are still available.[citation needed] The registration address on this website matches one of Sanchez' former business addresses.[23] Numerous postings in on the Daddy's Reviews website also indicate a connection between a man named Matt who was formerly known as Rod Majors, who ran a website called excellent-top.com.
Cropped versions of the photos pictured below (without heads) have appeared in gay publications.[citation needed] While Sanchez denies ever advertising his services as a male escort, he has told radio host Kevin McCullough that "pornography is prostitution", a seeming contradiction that many liberal activists have criticized as hypocritical.[citation needed]
In March, Sanchez was interviewed by Alan Colmes for a radio show. In the interview, Colmes asks "You worked as a male prostitute?" to which Sanchez replies "That as well." [24] In this same interview, Colmes also states that he contacted Sanchez that day, at the same phone number that he found posted in an ad for massage services in the New York Blade Nov. 19, 2004.

[edit] Marine Corps inquiry
On April 1, 2007, John Hoellwarth of the Marine Corps Times reported that Sanchez was being investigated by the Marine Corps for fraudulently soliciting more than $12,000 from the United War Veteran's Council for which he volunteered as the public service representative and a major sponsor, U-Haul.[25] Sanchez has denied the charges; saying that he never collected money from either organization.[25]
[edit] Current Status
Sanchez recently became a partner in an unidentified public relations and marketing firm.[26][27] He is also working on a book.[citation needed]
