Meatballs Part 2 was an American comedy film released in 1984. It was billed as a sequel to the 1979 movie Meatballs, but was released by a different studio and did not feature the same actors.

Several scenes that were cut to lower the MPAA rating from R to PG:

A sex scene with Archie Hahn (Jamie) and Misty Rowe (Fanny) in Jamie's cabin - 1 minute 13 seconds. In this scene, Fanny is dressed as a cheerleader and performs a strip tease for Jamie. Then, as they have sex, Fanny performs a cheer. They are interrupted when a camper clumsily opens the door to the cabin.

A sex scene with Jamie and Fanny in Fanny's cabin - 2 minutes. In this scene, Fanny is on top of Jamie while wearing a cowboy hat. They are interrupted when Paul Reubens (Albert) bursts into the cabin and makes a wise crack.

A sex scene with Jamie and Fanny in the woods - 45 seconds. They are interrupted when Richard Mulligan (Giddy) spots them.

A sex scene with Fanny and Jamie in Fanny's cabin - 7 minutes. In this scene, Jamie and Fanny have sex while 2 campers secretly tape them.

A shower scene featuring Fanny completely naked. - 27 seconds. In this scene, Fanny is showering. Jamie is watching through a peephole. As Jamie watches, Fanny masturbates with the shower-head.

Archie Hahn and Misty Rowe carried on a steamy love affair during the films production. Like their characters, they snuck off to have sex on set several times. But, unlike their characters, they didn't get caught. That is, until a crew member noticed them actually having sex during one of their simulated sex scenes^{[citation needed]}. Producers debated whether to leave the scene in or remove it. They eventually removed it, fearing word would spread that the scene was real and not simulated. The footage has since vanished from the Tri-Star archives.

The role of Fanny was offered to several actresses including Leslie Easterbrook, Lee Meredith, Carol Wayne, Robyn Hilton, and Jennifer Cooke. All of them turned it down due to the graphic sex and nudity. Robyn Hilton is the only actress who tested for the film before she turned it down. Her screentest consisted of taking off her top and waving pom-poms in the air. According to Hilton, "I loved the script but the nudity was too much. I wanted to move away from all of that."

Misty Rowe wore a heavily padded bra in order to play the top heavy Fanny.

In one of the opening scenes one of the female campers say that the camp looks like the camp from the Friday the 13th films. Meatballs II was filmed at the Veluzat Motion Picture Ranch, the exact same shooting location as Friday The 13th Part 3.

Originally the movie was to be entitled Space Kid, but the producers decided to cash in on the franchise and bought the rights to use the title Meatballs II.
