Mercedes-Benz S-Class Hybrid

The S400 Hybrid is a concept car DaimlerChrysler produced under the Mercedes-Benz brand. It débuted at the 2005 North American International Auto Show. DaimlerChrysler claims the car can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.6 s. Furthermore, it claims the car can travel 34 miles per US gallon of diesel.
The Hybrid's drivetrain includes a V8 CDI internal combustion engine and two electric motors. The diesel engine produces 191 kW (256.1 hp) power. The two electric motors together produce an additional 50 kW (67 hp) for a total of 241 kW (323.2 hp). A 1.9 kWh NiMH battery in the trunk powers the electric motors.
