Methodist University [1], known until 2006 as Methodist College, is a private college that is historically related to the North Carolina Annual Conference [2] of the United Methodist Church [3] and is located in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Methodist University offers over 70 majors and concentrations [4] in 5 undergraduate schools and 3 graduate programs in the School of Graduate Studies. Strong and unique undergraduate programs include Business Administration/Marketing or Financial Economics degrees with a concentration in Professional Golf Management [5] or similar concentrations in Professional Tennis Management [6] and Resort Management [7]. The Reeves School of Business also has Sport Management [8] and Health Care Administration concentrations. The Athletic Training Program [9] is nationally accredited by CAATE and the Physician Assistant [10] program is one of the strongest in the country.
Methodist University enrolls a diverse student body from over 40 states and more than 30 countries. These students are involved in over 60 clubs and student organizations [11] and 19 NCAA Division III athletic teams[12]. Monarch teams have won 57 team and individual national championships in just under 50 years of competition as well as capturing 116 conference championships and amassing 286 All-Americans and 51 Academic All-Americans.
Methodist University is one of the fastest growing institutions in the southeast, having almost doubled enrollment since 1990. 12 new buildings have been added to campus in the last 15 years, including a science building, and fitness center slated for completion in the spring of 2007 and an on-campus apartment complex which opened in the fall of 2006. Methodist University covers over 600 acres, much of which is undeveloped or home to the Methodist University golf course, which is an 18 hole facility with 70 station driving range. Additionally the University owns and operates Kings Grant Golf Course, an 18 hole facility adjacent to campus.
