Michael Rock (graphic designer)

A principal at 2x4 and a winner of the National Design Award.
Rock is notable as one of the signers of a letter to the White House declining an invitation that had been extended to the winners of the award.
Also signing the letter were Susan Sellers, Georgie Stout, Paula Scher, and Stefan Sagmeister.
Noted designer Chip Kidd was also asked to sign the letter, but deemed the gesture "inappropriate." [1]
