[edit] Mike's Groove
Mike's Song is the first song is a series of three songs known to Phish fans as Mike's Groove. As it commonly was with the Grateful Dead with their Help on the Way/Slipknot!>Franklin's Tower segues, Phish commonly plays Mike's Song>I am Hydrogen>Weekapaug Groove. The middle song however is sometimes exchanged for other Phish songs, ranging from Lifeboy to Frankie Says.
[edit] Lyrics
Trapped in time, and I don't know what to do, these friends of mine I can see right through, you don't gotta tell me, I don't gotta move, I'm sittin' back here, sharin' in the groove. (Me no are no nice guy)
I walk through the hallways, inside my mind, I chase the backbeat, from behind, Big dude in the doorway, is blocking my way, he reached and grabbed me, and this is what he said, (me no are no nice guy)
Mike Gordon sings the plain verses, and Trey Anastasio, Page McConnell and Jon Fishman exchange vocals during the parenthetical chorus.
Also, towards the end of the song there are two refrences to Pink Floyd, with "Careful with that axe, Eugene" and "Mother", two popular Pink Floyd songs amongst die-hards, are said.
