Mikoyan Project LFI

The Mikoyan Project LFI is an experimental fifth-generation fighter aircraft being developed by Mikoyan. LFI stands for "Legkij Frontovoj Istribityel", but is often said to stand for "Light Frontal Interceptor".
The Mig LFI is designed to have both air-to-air and air-to-ground attack capabilities. The LFI is comparable with the JSF Project and the F-22 Raptor. The aircraft is designed to be both better than the F-22 and as advanced as the JSF[citation needed]. Currently, the LFI is in the experimental stage, and a prototype has not yet been made. It may never be taken in production as the engine needed to power it is not available in Russia[citation needed].
Officially, the Russian Air Arms have only said that it is a priority to build a lightweight multi-role fighter, to provide an alternative to the heavy weight fighters like the MiG-MFI and the S-37[citation needed].
