Okay -- I made the article mainly with text from the 1911 Britannica -- I don't know much about his early life. But I think the Britannica article was WAY too kind about his handling of the situation in the Caucasus. Any other opinions? For now, I changed it around a bit, but I'd like to expand on his role in the HORRIBLE Dargo expedition. Okay. --The PNM 02:33, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
