Mindball
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mindball is a Swedish game. The objective of the game is to push a metal ball across a table. However, the ball is not moved physically. The ball is moved by a magnet which measures the player's brain waves. The outcome of the game is seldom straightforward as the transition from calm to excitement and vice versa goes very quickly. The product Mindball originates from the prototype Brainball which was developed by the Smart Studio at The Interactive Institute. One table costs about $19,000.

[edit] Sensors
The sensors which detect the brain waves are put in headbands. The sensors are connected to a biosensor system. The biosensor system measures EEG.
[edit] Brain Waves
The type of brain waves which help a player win are alpha waves and theta waves. They are usually greater when the player is more relaxed. The player's brain activity is shown in a diagram on a monitor next to the playing board.
[edit] Rules
- The player can only use his brain waves to move the ball.
- A game is won only when the ball is moved into the opponent's goal.
