[edit] Muller and Wronzoff
In the Black Island, Wronzoff was the leader of the group of counterfeits, not Muller. I changed the word to member and added Wronzoff's entry. Red Star
[edit] Colonel Jorgen and Wolff's Past
In Wolff's confession in "Explorers on the Moon", it is never stated that Jorgen was the one who persecuted Wolff in the past on behalf of his creditors or the foreign power, or that they even knew one another before the actual moon rocket mission. Rather, it is more probable that Wolff was being contacted and extorted by other agents over the years, until the moon mission was already well underway. It also appears from what Wolff says that he and Jorgen met for the first time only when already on the way to the moon - when, shortly after waking from the departure from Earth, Wolff goes down to the hold to free Jorgen of his stowing place; Wolff says that up until that point he had thought Jorgen was nothing but a nosy journalist.
- Yep, you are absolutely right. Besides, I don't know if the context of Wolf's betrayal (i.e. what he explains but is not really part of the main story) should be included here. I'll take the liberty to reword his entry a little bit. Glaurung 12:31, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Pictures
This page lacks something substantial, namely pictures of all the characters. I own all Tintin albums, so I can scan from them. abelson 17:46, August 4, 2005 (UTC)
That is a good idea. But that may make the page too large.
- I think that it's a good idea too. If the page gets too big, we can take some of them out and just have a sample. --Apyule 01:30, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
Sorry about the delay. Would scanning pictures of characters from Tintin and putting them in Wikipedia count as fair use? I guess it is, as long as I don't scan whole pages. abelson 12:56, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
- Pictures of characters are fine. Just say that you scanned them, and use the fair use template. --Apyule 01:24, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
- Moulinsart (the copyright owners of Tintin) are very restrictive about images of Tintin, so be careful. GurraJG 12:46, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
I agree, please be careful about putting those pictures on this page. I am writing an entry on the Sanders-Hardiman Expedition Members. I expect it to be completed soon. [anon.]
I have scanned and added a couple of pictures of the most important minor characters. I think the practice of fair use applies to them. abelson 17:01, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
Good. A picture Chang Chong-Chen would also be nice as he is a notable character.
[edit] Müller's clinic
It is stated in the article that Müller's clinic is in Scotland, but that is incorrect. The counterfeiting lab is there, but according to what I can infer from The black island, the clinic is in or near Eastdown, Sussex. (No such town exists, I gather.) 82.210.117.215 09:55, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Castafiore and Jewel's song
>> the only thing that Castafiore is ever heard to sing is the opening line of the Jewel Song, l'air des bijoux, from Faust, always at ear-splitting volume: "Ah my beauty past compare, these jewels bright I wear!"
Incorrect. In Page 28 of King Ottokar's Sceptre, while travelling with Tintin in the car, she sings the next line 'Was I ever Margarita ?'.
In Page 29, at night in the jail, Tintin hears her sing, after the first line, 'Was I ever Margarita ? Is it I ? Come reply ! Mirror, mirror, tell me truly !' Tintin 19:21, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Ah yes, you are right. I just checked in the original French edition. I changed the article text accordingly. --AlainV 23:56, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
- Alain, can you please take a look at the last section of Faust (opera) also. Tintin 01:14, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
OK, changed the Faust (opera) article too. --AlainV 01:28, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Page getting out of hand
Today, a paragraph on the Sanders-Hardiman Expedition members was added to the page. It was a very long summary of The Seven Crystal Balls and absolutely not adapted for this page. So I removed most of it to keep it short. But I'll take the opportunity to point out that this page is a little bit getting out of hand. It was primarily dedicated to secondary characters, but there is more and more insignificant characters that may not even be worth mentioning. (Or if it is, their entry should not be longer than a few sentences). for example, I am not really sure that we need entries for Bohlwinkel, Klumsi and Kronik, Puschov, Sanders-Hardiman Expedition Members, and Bobby Smiles.
Any thoughts? Glaurung 17:46, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
- I agree, though adding one of my own favourite characters, Wang Yen-Chi.. I've begun trimming down various characters, adding to thinly described ones, as well as linkifying a number of names.Poulsen 14:17, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Pictures
I have added some pictures. Please try to collect all the pictuers of the character and add some more minor characters. Dwaipayanc 13 November,2005
[edit] Moving the page back to its original name
An admin is needed to move the bage Adventured of Tintin back to its original name : Minor characters in Tintin The name change was unecessary and the new title does not make sense. Apparently, User:Edbon3000 didn't see that the page Chiquito was redirected to Minor characters in Tintin. I have moved his entry on the Chiquito page. We just need to move back this page to its original location, but the software doesn't let me do it, probably because the target page already exists. Thanks. Glaurung 11:07, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
- Meanwhile the page has been again renamed by someone else, so we have Minor characters in Tintin --> Adventured of Tintin --> Adventures of Tintin. We need to go back to the original name and delete the redirect page (maybe we could keep Adventures of Tintin but redirect it to The Adventures of Tintin Glaurung 08:29, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
A Big thank you to Poulsen and JoanneB for putting everything in order Glaurung 14:30, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Bird brothers in Tintin and Alph-Art
Where in Tintin and Alph-Art do the Bird brothers appear?
