Mossberg Maverick

The Maverick 88 (Product homepage)is actually a simplified Mossberg 500 (synthetic stock and forearm, cylinder bore, cross-bolt safety). Accessories are mostly compatible with Mossberg 500.
There are two basic models of the 88. The 88 field and the 88 security. The 88 field comes with a 28" vent-rib barrel and the security comes with an 18.5" non-vent rib barel. The Security model weighs 6lbs, both fire 2 3/4" and 3" shells. The 88's have a magazine capaicty of 6 or 8 shots and cannot have their magazines easily extended with a magazine extension.
