Motherwell TMD

Motherwell TMD is a locomotive Traction Maintenance Depot situated in Motherwell, Scotland. The depot code is ML.
This depot is owned by EWS and is used for the maintenance of their fleet of Diesel locomotives and wagons.
This depot may close in the near future, with its operations relocated to nearby Mossend, which would be a sensible decision for the company to make as most of their business is now done from there and the Motherwell depot has become life expired.
It has recently been damaged by fire, (2002), and although some repairs have been carried out to allow the depot to continue functioning, it has not been fully repaired, further adding to speculation over its impending demise.
It is EWS's only major traction maintenance depot in Scotland.
