Murakuni Oyori
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Murakuni Oyori (村国男依)(d. 676) was a samurai leader who fought in the Jinshin War, as a servant of Prince Ō-ama.
During the Jinshin War, in 672, he led a force against the Imperial army of Emperor Kōbun, defeating them in Ōmi Province. When Kōbun committed suicide, Murakuni took his head back to Prince Ō-ama who, upon taking the throne as Emperor Temmu, granted Murakuni a number of domains as a reward. Upon his death four years later, Murakuni Oyori passed these lands on to his son Shigamaro.
