Talk:Murder of Rachel Moran

[edit] merge
Strongly recommend merging of the two article. This is because the two articles are stubs and are likely to lack notability on their own so merging creates the notability for the murder--Jjamesj 12:26, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Please don't merge this victim with her murderer. If you must merge her with anyone then merge her with other victims of pointless, lust-driven crimes. And please show her some respect - her name is Rachel, not Moran.
Firstly please sign comments, secondly the use of Moran is MOS and thirdly I must disagree the merging of the two articles is because they are interlinked inseparably, so to maintain the notability of the murder the articles must be merged together.--Lucy-marie 14:21, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I don't know what MOS means. However there are other articles about murder victims on this site where the victims are not referred to by their surnames. For instance Joanne Nelson is called Miss Nelson and Lori Hacking is either Lori Hacking or Lori. I see this as showing respect, something even the shabbiest of tabloids do, and I find it disheartening that Wikipedia people would not understand this. Perhaps someone could explain what MOS is and what purpose is served by referring to both victim and aggressor by their surname.
Kerry Moran
again please sign your posts with 4 ~ secondly MOS means Manual Of Style, the articles you have now bought to may attention need fixing to conform with the MOS. The reason it is is done to create a neutral point of view by referring to both people in an anonymous as possible way, emotion and POV can be avoided. Also on the point of respect that is not the point of the article or wikipedia, the point is to provide a neutral and well sourced account.--Lucy-marie 22:55, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
