Muzzin is a punk-rock/pop-punk/power-pop/death metal band from the southwestern Ontario town of Amherstburg. While their first self-titled release became the #1 best selling punk album in the town's history, it was strongly opposed by local parent groups who felt that most of the lyrics were of explicit and sexual nature. Nonetheless, the band continued to play sold-out shows until their hiatus in late 2004.
In 2005 the band reunited, adding Amherstburg guitar legend Hardcore Al to record their second smash-hit album A Picnic That Ends in Bloodshed. Recorded in higher quality than their first release, PTEIB had more mature lyrics, heavier guitar riffs and utilized a synthesiser to produce a catchier sound. The album was met with strong reviews, and Muzzin continued to play sold-out shows in and around Windsor, Ontario.
The band took their second hiatus in the fall of 2005, which ended in January 2007 with the announcement of more shows. They are currently writing their follow-up to A Picnic That Ends in Bloodshed, which is due to be released in late 2007.
