Pius Mwemba was born in the village of Ikonzo in Busia Western Kenya. He is a member of the luhya community speaking Kimarachi. Pius is a grandson of Mwemba and a great grandchild of Oniambe of Namenya clan. He is the third born of Vincent and Philister Mwemba and has seven bothers and two sisters. In his early years he attended the following schools, Ikonzo, Masebula, Don Bosco and Bujumba respectfully. The chief commissioner Kenya Scouts Association Honorable Minister J.J. Nyagah appointed Pius the scout’s area commissioner for Langata in 1996. 1996 – He received the wood badge from Geneva Swaziland {The highest award given to a scout leader Internationally. 1989 – 1997 – He was a teacher at Catholic Parochial School in Nairobi. He started Girls scouts Unit in 1991 as a pilot project under Kenya Scouts Association and conducted an investiture ceremony for the first girls scouts Unit in sungura scouts and chipukizi scouts in 1992 at Rowland scouts camp in Nairobi. 1990 – He was elected General Secretary Kenya Ringo Sports Association. 1993 - He was elected the Vice President International Ringo Federation and Continental representative for Africa to the International Ringo Federation. currently the President of America Ringo Sports Association.
