Nathaniel S. Keith

Nathaniel S. Keith is the founder of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) in the spring 1884. Nathaniel Keith was a chemist by trade and engaged in electrical work as an inventor, writer, and electrical engineer.
Keith was instrumental in the manufacturing and installation of the electric light and power apparatus in San Francisco, California.
AIEE merged with other societies in 1963 to become the IEEE, the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers.
