The National Association of Heavy Equipment Training Schools (commonly known as 'NAHETS') is a private educational organization that primarily certifies operators within the heavy equipment construction and crane industry in the United States.
[edit] Overview
NAHETS was established in 2005 as an independent educational association because of a lack of organization within the Heavy Equipment educational industry. The primary motivation for the creation of NAHETS was to develop and promote a safe, sound educational process. NAHETS currently has many member schools throughout the United States, and is responsible for the administration of many major accredited trainings.
Training schools who meet the criteria and standards of NAHETS curriculum are invited to become members in the association. Students who graduate from a member school are awarded national certification through NAHETS and the NCCER. All NAHETS member-schools offer level I, II, and III training on twelve different machines such as bulldozer, loader, excavator, skid steer, tractor, backhoe, motor grader, and others; plus an additional level for crane operators.
