As the RNA Nepal in 2004, Nepal spent $99.2 million of its GDP on its military (1.5%). Since 1996 the RNA it had been heavily involved in the Nepalese Civil War but was later seen fighting pro-democracy protestors in the 2006 Loktantra Andolan. Most of its arms were supplied by India.
