Austin, Texas-based company established in 1999 specializing in network monitoring and network performance management. NetQoS® Inc. was named to the Inc. 500 list of the country’s fastest growing private companies in 2005 & 2006 -- one of only 22 software vendors in the United States to make the list. Company CEO Joel Trammell recently won an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year award for 2006.
NetQoS® gathers information from existing network routers and passively monitors network traffic and application response times. This approach is different from active monitoring which involves the use of agent software on client machines. In 2005 the company aquired Redpoint Systems Inc., giving it a SNMP polling offering for device performance management. In 2007 NetQoS and Network Instruments® announced a strategic partnership to deliver a unified solution for identifying network degradation through retrospective network analysis (RNA).
The company's clients include 8 of the Fortune 12 as well as more than 500 other enterprise and government customers worldwide. The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) named NetQoS' ReporterAnalyzer a Best Systems Management Solution finalist in its 21st Annual Codie Awards competition. ReporterAnalyzer went on to win a MySQL Application of the Year Award in 2006 for the innovative use of MySQL.
