New Scandinavian Cooking
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
New Scandinavian Cooking is a cooking show currently hosted by Tina Nordström. The show was previously hosted by Andreas Viestad.
Beginning in 2003, the show debuted on PBS in the United States. It is also aired in about 60 other countries, including China, Germany, Italy and France. The first two seasons were hosted by Norwegian food writer Andreas Viestad, the third season by Swedish chef and television personality Tina Nordström. The fourth season, premiering in 2007, is again hosted by Andreas Viestad.
The success of the series is in part due to its original format and its charming foreign hosts. The food is not made in studio but outdoors, on a portable kitchen that is set up on location, often in faraway places, like remote beaches or mountain precipices. Viestad shows off different regions and dishes of his home country of Norway and Nordström, Sweden. There is a notable absense of chefs from Iceland, Denmark, and Finland to complete the actual Scandinavian theme of the show, however.
