Nick Flanagan (comedian)

Nick Flanagan is a Toronto comedian, part of the current Toronto Alternative Comedy Scene, lead singer of The Brutal Knights, and founder of The Joke Club. He is also a writer.

Nick Flanagan began performing in Toronto in 2001, where he tended homage to Dave Coulier.

Founded in 2004 after the success of a live recording that took place during his time as artist in residence(the second, with drummer/playwright Jeremy Finkelstein having been the first) at the hotel, The Joke Club is a comedy review at the Drake Hotel where Nick hosts. February 2007 marked the last monthly show; the show has moved to a quarterly format.
[edit] Brutal Knights
Nick sings and writes the lyrics in Brutal Knights, a five piece from Toronto. In addition to numerous seven inch releases, they have an LP on Deranged Records, The Pleasure Is All Thine, and second LP Feast of Shame, released in February 2007, also on Deranged. It was recorded by Jon Drew(who has recorded Career Suicide and Fucked Up and is a member of Toronto band The Uncut) at Signal to Noise studios and mixed by musician Jay Reatard.
