Nicole Lapin is both an anchor and correspondent to many of CNN’s news services. She is primarily seen anchoring CNN Pipeline, an internet broadcast service offering multiple live streams and on-demand footage. Lapin reports groundbreaking news on the heels of national and international current events. She also anchors “Now in the News,” an hourly news briefing and “.com Desk,” briefings that feature the highlights of CNN.com coverage. Other places to spot Nicole Lapin include CNN Headline News, CNN Newsroom, CNN Student News, CNN Sunday Morning and CNN Podcasting. She has been with CNN since May 2006 and is based in the network’s world headquarters in Atlanta.

Nicole is the daughter of a former Israeli beauty contestant who's style and on screen presence have undoubtedly influenced her career. Her agent and publicist also works with well known celebrities and up and coming stars. Nicole grew up in Beverly Hills, CA 90210.

Before Lapin came to CNN, she reported with CBS-2 in Palm Springs, California. There she reported live from San Quentin Prison during the execution of Stanley Williams. She also did a series on possible wrongful convictions in California. She had first explored this subject with the Center for Wrongful Convictions in Chicago, a group whose investigations led to a moratorium on executions in the state of Illinois.

She had also worked with the First Business Network reporting daily from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Her work with the network included her travels overseas to cover the surging value of the Euro and a position aboard the inaugural trans-Atlantic Wi-FI flight.

Lapin has been a general assignment reporter for KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. Both stations are CBS affiliates.

Lapin studied for two semesters at European Union politics at L'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, or Sciences Po. She also attended Harvard University and Columbia University during the summer. She also studied at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University where she graduated summa cum laude and as valedictorian of her class while graduating as one of the youngest in her class in the Spring of 2005. She received honors in her double-major, political science. Nicole received many awards for her undergraduate work and internships. Her first experience came from when she interned and field produced at NBC in New York and NBC in Chicago.

Lapin has become a spokeswoman for the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, a charity for seriously ill children and their families. She hosts a chat series called "Being Smart is Cool" that focuses on current events, politics, foreign affairs, and hard-hitting stories in both the national and international arena. On March 23, 2007 Lapin hosted a Starlight Starbright in Beverly Hills with the charity's other national spokesperson, Jamie Lee Curtis.

On April 3, 2007, Lapin was quoted on her own network at CNN saying "My desk is now a crime scene" soon after a shooting that occurred a few feet away from her desk. In this life threatening experience, she had to dash through the line of fire to get to safety. It was a twist of reality since Lapin is typically presenting the news and not a part of it.
