The man is called Nicholas not Nicolas. Oxford DNB agrees. University of Cambridge list of Alumni agrees. Christ's college list of members agrees. Brittanica 1911 agrees. Somebody do something! 131.111.233.218 22:57, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] To be made MA?
Current version says: "... Queen Anne made Saunderson MA on 19 November 1711 ..." What does this mean? Is MA an abbreviation for something? 198.166.55.98 05:10, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- It means he was made Master of Arts, or more clearly, he was awarded the degree of M.A. Although the usage "made MA" is technically correct, it is probably clearer to a reader to change it to awarded the degree or something like that.LeBofSportif 07:44, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- The article doesn't make it clear that at Cambridge University, one was not allowed to have an official post, like professor, without a (Cambridge?) MA degree. This is why he was given the M.A.LeBofSportif 07:45, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Ok. Will make an appropriate change. 198.166.55.98 06:13, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
