Nikolai Lugansky

Nikolai Lugansky (born April 26, 1972) is a Russian pianist, born in Moscow. In 1994, he won the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition. He has made numerous recordings, and also teaches at the Moscow Conservatory.

His ability to perform to such a high standard has led to him playing with many international orchestras, as well as continuing playing solo piano to audiences around the world.
- First Prize, All-Union Competition in Tbilisi (1988)
- Silver Medal, 8th International Bach Competition in Leipzig (1988)
- Second Prize, Rachmaninov Competition in Moscow (1990)
- Best pianist, International Summer Academy "Mozarteum" in Salzburg, Austria (1992)
- 2nd prize, Tchaikovsky Piano Competition (1994)
