Nuclear Energy Institute
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to its website, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) is "the policy organization of the nuclear energy and technologies industry and participates in both the national and global policy-making process. NEI's objective is to ensure the formation of policies that promote the beneficial uses of nuclear energies and technologies in the United States and around the world."
Among other activities, the NEI has hired the Potomac Communications Group to ghostwrite pro-nuclear op-ed columns to be submitted to local newspapers under the name of local personalities[1], and has sponsored the creation of an entity called the Clean and Safe Energy Corporation, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power disaster in the Ukraine.
