Nuptial act
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Nuptial Act is a theological term most used amongst Catholics. It is another term for what the marital act is - it is the conjoining of two human beings in the sexual act to become one flesh and one body, in conjunction with Jesus Christ. It is an exclusive act of love between two married persons, and is considered a gift from God. The nuptial act must be open to the possibility of life, or it is a violation of the conjugal quality of the love.
[edit] According to Pope John Paul II
In Pope John Paul II's book, Theology of the Body, the late Pope discusses the full theology behind what the nuptial is in quality and essence.
