[edit] Gay ícons
Are they Gay icons about your place?
No.
- Nope. I can understand the confusion and/or joke, though. They were what we here in the U.S. call a "boy band". There's always jokes about boy band members being gay over here, probably because sappy love songs (stuff that mentions crying, even. In other words, not exactly the manliest of music) are usually a staple of boy band type groups. I have to wonder why though that the handful of female singing groups (excluding t.A.T.u., whose manager cooked up a gimmick to promote them as a pair of lesbians) never seem to have lesbianism jokes thrown about. Maybe some guys get a bit jealous because ladies often like the girly men more? ;) Runa27 17:41, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Inaccuracy?
In 2005 the group split up. All of the members went their separate ways and started their own solo careers. It is debated whether O-Zone is the original creator of the song. An Italian man named Haiduci claims the song as his own, as both groups released the song about the same time.
I don't think this is true, since when the woman from Haiduci (yes, Haiduci is NOT a man, or at least, not only) came here in Bulgaria, she clearly stated on a TV show that the song was written by Dan Balan. This should be corrected. --213.91.184.25 22:56, 22 March 2006 (UTC) (Megara)
Hello, just comment about Haidyci. On the disk MTV hits 2005 there was another Haidychi song - "I need a boyfriend". It is complete copy of the Russian-Ukrainian singer (known as VerkaSerduchka) song. So, it makes me think that MayaHi has been written by O-zone. brozz
Could someone please add which song is being referred to here. The text does not give any indication of it. Icemuon 18:34, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
The song was Dragostea Din Tei. There was some legal action, I believe - O-Zone won and Haiducii conceded that the song was written by Dan Balan. --Ryttu3k 14:03, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] What about the numa numa guy?
The band came into focus and awarness about it increased after a home-made video with their song playing in the background became popular online. Could more information about this be included in the article?

[edit] Dragostea Din Tei
This song has a site of its own. So there was no need to describe the song here again.
- True, some parts should be moved or deleted. But this section is actually more about Dan Bălan than the song. It needs to be cleaned up and moved to the right places. Will put that on my todo list. Icemuon 10:41, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, but please note, that Dan Bălan has a site of his own, too. Both sites include text which ist paste© from Dan Bălans official website.
[edit] minor edit
I removed the phrase "which is the most fricken awesome song ever written and" from the first sentence of the section about the numa numa song. 134.84.102.244 04:12, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
