Oda Hidenobu (1581-1602) the son of Oda Nobutada following the Azuchi-Momoyama period of the 16th century. Toyotomi Hideyoshi chose to plead the case of Hidenobu, in the fact that his father (in which also included Oda Nobunaga) was killed during the Incident at Honnoji in 1582, leaving Hidenobu merely at the age of 3. Hideyoshi ended up winning this internal dispute in the end to have Hidenobu as the successor to the Oda clan instead of Oda Nobutaka (who Shibata Katsuie recommended as successor). Hidenobu followed in serving under Ishida Mitsunari during the Sekigahara Campaign of 1600, in which he controlled the Mino Castle, an important element in Ishida’s overall plans, but ended up losing it to an attack by Ikeda Terumasa and Fukushima Masanori. Hidenobu died two years after Mitsunari's defeat at Sekigahara.
