Ollur

Ollur is a major suburban area in the Thrissur City of Kerala state, south India. It is situated about 5km away from Swaraj Round on National Highway 47 towards Ernakulam. Ollur used to be a small town of Thrissur district until recently. Now, this geographical area is part of Thrissur Corporation. It is situated between Kuriachira and Thalore on the national highway. However, a specific identity for this geographical region is still there due to the rural setting of this region and it's important religious institutions.

Ollur is a multi-religion centre.Ollur center is a christian dominated area. The St.Antony's church [1] is famous for its festival of Arch Angel St.Raphael which is celebrated on the 24th October every year.People from distant places as from Muvattupuzha,Kottayam areas also comes here for the festival..The tomb of Rev. Mother Evuprasia, the famous pilgrim centre is at St. Mary's convent Ollur.The edakkunni Durga devi temple built by the great sage Parasurama is a close to ollur center.The annual pooram festival and Pancharimelam are well known.The famous business house Hykon had its starting from Ollur.
