Optimal Situation

Optimal Situation is the season 3 premiere of Beast Wars, picking up where The Agenda, Part 3 left off.

Just as Megatron thinks he has succeeded after destroying Optimus Prime in the Ark, Blackarachnia betrays him, activating Teletran-Ones security net, knocking him out. With help from Silverbolt, she manages to operate the Ark's computers to perform some quick repairs on Prime, stabilizing his body and the timeline, enough for the other Maximals to get inside and catch up with them. In order to save Prime's spark while Rhinox initiates further repairs, Optimus Primal takes Prime's spark into his own body, which causes him to mutate into a new, larger transmetal transformer, dubbed "Optimal Optimus". Now armed with two alternate vehicle modes, Optimal Optimus drives off the Predacons and pursues them in an attempt to protect the Axalon with Cheetor at his side and the other Maximals watching over Prime. Blackarachnia is wounded by Megatron, which frightens Silverbolt, but she survives.
Even with his new power, his concern to protect Prime's spark results in Optimus losing the Axalon to the Predacons as Rampage uses his cannon to knock the base out of its fragile resting place and send it crashing into the waterfall. Optimus Prime's spark is restored to his body, thus restoring the timeline, and the Maximals, now allied with Blackarachnia, set about building a new base alongside the Ark, their new responsibility being the Ark's safety.
