Ore, a former village, is now part of the urban area of the town of Hastings in East Sussex. It is located to the north-east of the town, on the main road to Ashford, Kent (the A259 road).
The parish church is dedicated to St Helen and was built in 1868; its predecessor, an ancient church, now stands in ruins nearby. There are also a second Anglican church (Christ Church), a Seventh-day Adventist Church and a Methodist church. Hastings Cemetery is located in Ore. Ore also contains a small shopping centre and the Hillcrest school and community centre.

Ore railway station lies on the Marsh Link Line; here too is the maintenance depot for the trains from London and the coast (via the East Coastway Line and Hastings Line). Ore railway station lies north of Hastings and south of Three Oaks (formerly Three Oaks and Guestling Halt. All trains on this line (Marsh Link Line) are diesel, the track is not electrified.
