For more than 50 years Oscilloquartz SA (OSA) has been a pioneer in the domain of time and frequency. Today, Oscilloquartz is a manufacturer of frequency sources, such as quartz crystal oscillators (OCXO), GPS receivers or cesium clocks for telecommunications applications. Oscilloquartz is also a provider of synchronization solutions for turnkey synchronization projects in e.g. PDH, SDH, SONET and all kind of mobile telecom networks e.g. GSM, X-CDMA, TETRA, 2.xG, 3G, 4G, UMTS, WiMAX ... .
Oscilloquartz' core business is to supply synchronization solutions. Its goal is to provide the telecom industry with turnkey solutions for synchronisation of all types of telecommunication networks. Sync solutions offered by Oscilloquartz covers the generation of primary references clocks (level 1), the distribution of this reference throughout telecom networks, together with the local regeneration and distribution of clocking references (level 2 and level 3).
Additionally, Oscilloquartz's truly integrated remote management solutions offers a wide range of technology, including its proprietary SyncView management software and including, as SyncView agents or embedded solutions, Q3, SNMP, TL1 interfaces.
For quartz crystal oscillators, its flagship is certainly the ultra-stable BVA resonator, the best quartz oscillator ever made in the world. Oscilloquartz also manufacture a complete range of products, including single oven and double oven oscillators, targeted at the synchronisation of mobile base stations and other telecommunication equipment.

Though Oscilloquartz's registered office is located in Neuchâtel (Switzerland), Oscilloquartz has offices in Colorado Springs (USA), in Paris (France) and in Shanghai (China).

- Oscilloquartz began its operations as a department of Ebauches SA in 1949, during the pioneering days of time and frequency measurement.
- In 1950, Oscilloquartz' first mission was to equip the prestigious Observatory of Neuchâtel where the first quartz clocks were installed. Further quartz clocks were delivered to the 0bservatory of Paris in 1955.
- In 1958, Oscilloquartz began their activity in atomic frequency standards. An ammoniac maser designed by the LSRH, was built and shown at the Universal Exhibition of Brussels. Consequently, a hydrogen maser was developed and, until 1988, nine units were manufactured and delivered to several observatories and institutes worldwide.
- In 1962, Swisscom (formerly named Swiss PTT) entrusted Oscilloquartz with the development of a complete redundant frequency generating system of which more than 50 were delivered in the sixties and seventies.
- In 1964, Oscilloquartz turned its interest to the more promising field of cesium frequency standards and in 1966 delivered its first commercial atomic clock to the ESRO, the predecessor of the European Space Agency (ESA). Since then, Oscilloquartz has delivered many frequency and timing subsystems for ground stations all over the world.
- In 1967, The Swiss atomic clock "OSCILLATOM" was shown at Expo '67, Montreal. During that same year, transport and transfer of precise time was carried out in the USA, Canada, Far East and South America.
- In 1971, Oscilloquartz SA was officially registered as a corporation.
- In 1978, Swisscom (formerly Swiss PTT) commissioned Oscilloquartz to supply a new generation of plesiochronous and synchronous equipment for hierarchy levels I and II of their digital communications network. Over thirty similar synchronization systems were subsequently installed worldwide.
- In 1982, Oscilloquartz actively pursued the research and development of state of the art Quartz resonators and oscillators, such as the new generation of ultra-stable BVA oscillators. The company continued to strive for excellence and the result is that most BVA oscillators today achieve stability performance, unrivalled in the field of commercial quartz oscillators.
- In 1988, In a joint venture with SERCEL, France, Oscilloquartz developed the new European Digital Cesium Standard, EUDICS, with fully digital control loops and remote capabilities via RS-232 interface.
- In 1998, Oscilloquartz launched its new generation of SC-Cut Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators (OCXO) to cater for most high stability oscillator needs in the telecommunications industry. Applications for this new range of OCXOs include clock circuits in digital cross-connects, GSM base stations and GPS receivers.
