Pacific Rim Shopping Centre

Pacific Rim Shopping Centre is an outdoor shopping centre in Port Alberni, British Columbia, formatted as a power centre.
Wal-Mart and Extra Foods comprise Pacific Rim Centre's two anchor tenants. Wal-Mart was the first of the mall's stores to be built, opening in January 2005 on the site of the former McKinnon's Dairy on Johnston Road, followed by Extra Foods a few months later.
Other stores and services located at Pacific Rim Centre include Starbucks, A&W, First Choice Hair Cutters and three businesses recently relocated from the Alberni Mall across the street—Suzanne's (a women's wear chain), Alder Insurance and (as of about May 15, 2007 [1]) The Source by Circuit City. Construction at Pacific Rim Centre is currently ongoing, with more businesses slated to arrive as the new power centre nears completion.
It has recently been reported in the February 8, 2007 edition of the Alberni Valley Times that Staples Business Depot will become the third anchor tenant at Pacific Rim Centre as it builds a store at the mall. The new Staples store is scheduled to open in the summer of 2007.
